The concept of a student pilot permit hit me: In order to solo, you need several
Based on the feedback from several of my student teachers, the analogy was a good one. As one teacher candidate wrote on her exit ticket, “Dr. T’s plane example made it more concrete and relevant” (I’m no doctor, btw – I guess she refuses to believe that someone as brilliant as I can not have a PhD, lol!)
Anyway, the point is, learning to fly has enhance my instructional repertoire as an educator.
To illustrate the analogy for the visual learners in my class, I included a large photo of Randy from my GS class, who just recently soloed for the first time.
Next month, I am presenting a series of workshops to teachers in Honduras.
Randy and his triangulation analogy are coming with me. Virtually.
