Dec 29, 2010  - Disappointment

Here's the plan, since the weather didn't cooperate last time, or the time before that!  We'll see how it shapes up today:
1.     complete pre flight inspection.
2.     Start up/ taxi and take off to local East on your own.
3.
Once cleared en route (bring your chart so you know where) - we will do best range
followed by endurance. Plane must remain at same altitude (2200ft ASL) and trimmed each time.
4.
go north at Pickering power plant. proceed to climb to 3400ft.
5.     Map read
to Uxbridge.
6.
HAZEL check must be done (by you without me asking) before each of the following.
(notice they most start with an S)
      - review Slow flight  (control aircraft - use more rudder- maintain altitude)
      - review Stalls/ and recovery (use rudder)
      - review Spiral    (recognize and properly recovery/ as per POH)
      - Demo of a forward slip/ turning slip will be performed.
      - Overshoot
7.     Head home - if time allows a couple circuits only.

GUESS WHAT?  We didn't do any of it!  The weather did NOT cooperate (what else is new) so we spent some time on a ground brief about spins and spiral dives and then went out in the soup local west to practise straight and level flight and especially trim.  My instructor was bored to tears, and I feel more frustrated than ever.  I went home afterwards and moped for a bit, but then, in a desparate attempt to exert some power over that which I have none, I created this site:  www.studentpilot.weebly.com :)

I shouldn't be so negative.  Lari did take me to see the control tower, which was kind of interesting.
