Nov 17 - Attempted West Cross Country
After over a month of crappy weather on planned X-Country dates, we finally attempted the west dual cross country. Not having flown in quite some time, I was rusty as it was. In addition to that the weather looked a bit hazy out west. We headed out regardless, hoping it would clear up, as the TAF indicated it would!
Alas! Upon our arrival at Burlington Bridge, the visibility was mediocre at best, and struggling to balance radio work with navigation under less than ideal circumstances was not going to be a wise use of time. So, we did the most commonly practised diversion, and headed back to City Centre, informing Hamilton, then Toronto Terminal of our decision as we went, and of course, remembering to close our flight plan upon our arrival back at CYTZ.
Although it was a disappointment to AGAIN not have completed the Cross Country, I am encouraged that I did finally get to fly again, and the practise will come in handy during our next attempt, this coming weekend!
