Now I find the same thing happening with the weather and flying. Today, for example, was the perfect day for being behind the controls of a Cessna (sadly, I was behind a desk at the university instead, hehe). Clear sky, calm winds, decent temperature... and then, the most amazing evening: While walking the dog tonight, my eyes beheld an orange orb hanging in the sky, and shrouded by delicate wisps of... what? Cirrus clouds? Cotton candy? But not for long, then the moon stood proudly on its own against the darkening sky, casting on the waters the most beautiful golden path directly towards the shore. It was as though one could just step out on the water, and walk right out onto the lake towards this magnificent light in the sky!
A sailboat bobbed gently on the lake, its crew no doubt admiring this gorgeous twilight from the water. And all I could think of was “Hey, I should totally get my night rating”!
