This afternoon I indulged in a short walk down to the stream on the University grounds where I teach. I was most impressed with the powerful salmon fighting the "headwinds" -- it reminded me of what we've been talking about not only in NAV but also MET classes in Ground School. I have nowhere near the vocabulary to articulate the connections I am thinking of in any kind of competent manner, but I can see similarities between the wild salmon in the stream down there, and wind and weather patterns and navigationational implications in aviation, which we've been learning about these past few weeks.
Funny, I wouldn't even have noticed it a year ago. Studying a completely foreign topic certainly does open up the world!
