I work in a faith-based institution, and we begin our faculty meetings each month with a devotion. I’m on to lead for November, and I know they all expect me to talk about children, or something education based (the dept I work in being the faculty of ed!) Ahhh, but when I considered what to reflect on, I somehow knew that flight must be involved, because of the new perspective it has given me.
But what to focus on?
What aspect of this new endeavor to best relate to and celebrate our Creator?
Like a painting by the Dutch masters, I am drawn upwards, towards the heavens…
To know the sky, to be face to face with a magnificent cumulous in all its capacious splendor articulated against an otherwise clear blue sky… to watch, from an elevated front row seat, the sun dance on the horizon… is to have seen the face of God Himself.
How, though, can I share the splendor of my new sky hobby in a way that does it justice? Mere words cannot accurately describe my very soul in the state that my more recent airbourne experiences have found me in.
To be inbound on 08 at around 4:15 p.m. DST (sorry, still haven’t mastered zulu!) is a gift few have the rich privilege of unwrapping. How, then, can I hold up this precious gift that others might also be astounded by its majesty?
Ahh, ZUT!! I just put the cheese into the boiling pasta water, instead of into the saucepan!
